The Cohomology of Arithmetic Groups

What is the workshop about?

​

The goal of this workshop is to present two relatively new methods in topology and number theory: FI-modules/representation stability on the one hand, and completed cohomology on the other.The central unifying example will be the cohomology of congruence subgroups of GL_N(Z).

What is the intended audience?

 The workshop is for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in topology and number theory. 

Where will the workshop be held?

The workshop participants will stay at Cenacle House in Lincoln Park near downtown Chicago. The lectures will be held at DePaul University

What funding is available?

We only have space for a limited number of participants.

All approved participants from out of town will have their accommodation covered, as well as up to $400 towards travel expenses (we shall endeavour to cover all travel expenses if possible). Moreover, the conference facilities also include free meals. In order to apply for funding, click here.

Lecture Series

There will be two lecture series, one by Church, Farb, and Putman, and another by Calegari and Emerton.
